［くらしの安心安全ABC］裏話 Vol.32号

みなさま、こんにちは。

今号でも国立歩記の裏表紙右上に、
「くらしの安心安全ABC」を掲載しています。

その時期、身のまわりで気をつけたいことを
有名な曲のタイトルやフレィズとともにお知らせしています。
＊同時にすこし英語に触れる機会にも。

今号（Vol.32・秋号）では、ちょうど道路交通法の改正が
行われたタイミングもあり、
《自転車に乗りながらの携帯電話は使用禁止》をテーマに。

選曲としては自転車関連ということで、
ストレイトにQueen の’Bicycle Race’ に決定。

そこで、ニャン太くんには、
Freddie Mercury（フレディ・マーキュリィ）に扮装してもらいました（笑）
気づいた方、いらっしゃったでしょうか。

英語がもし苦手だとしても「want to はわかる！」という方は
少なくないかもしれませんね。
日本語訳はそのまま「自転車に乗りたいよー」です。

ちなみに楽曲の中でも唄われていますが
（当時1977, 8年ころは違うニュアンスかも？）、
最近では自転車のことを英語でbike（バイク）と
表現する場合も増えてきています。

また、bike には動詞として「自転車に乗る」の意味もあるので、
I want to bike. という使い方も。

動詞としてのride a bicycle とbike の使い分けは自由。
そのときの語感や音感で使い分けたりしましょう。
